Wow, we've been so good about posting stuff lately! We are on the ball now baby!
Mommy has been pretty cranky for the last few days. We heard her saying that she is not happy about the election results...we wonder, what's an election?!! Anyway, she keeps saying "Palin in 2012!!!" Not sure what that means but she said she hopes that Nobama really does create the change that American needs. We are glad all we have to think about is when our doggie breakfast with yummy yogurt and doggie supper will get served to us!
Mommy is also frustrated (that was hard to sound out!) that Ellie isn't using the doggie door like me and Thor do. We go in and out whenever we want...it's GREAT! But, Ellie waits for someone to let her out and then whines until she's let back in. Ellie, you better hurry up and get the memo cause I heard Mommy say that she was gonna pull her hair out if you didn't learn soon! Shut up Cooper! Of course I know how to use the doggie door, but it's much better to have attention and focus on me!!!

Ellie not going out the doggie door

Thor trying to show her it's okay to go out by herself!
Oh, we realized we never did tell the story of how Mommy's life was changed forever on July 26th, 2008. It was a dark and stormy night...okay, not really! It was a nice and sunny summer day. Mommy and Tommy had rented kayaks and went out kayaking on Lake Grapevine. They had a good time, until Mommy dropped her digital camera in the lake. Then it was time to go home after that!

Tommy...uh, his vest is too small!

Here's Mommy!
Mommy got home and tried to take a nap cause she had a busy evening ahead of her. She and Tommy were going to take Karma swimming and then to Chuck-E-Cheese. We'll make this short since most of you have probably heard but basically Mommy's used-to-be friend Brooke called her from the airport asking her to watch our used-to-be doggie friend Joey. Mommy did not have a good feeling about it but didn't really have a choice since Brooke had already left for her 10 day trip.

Mommy & Brooke...happier times!
Everything was fine until Mommy, Tommy, & Karma got home from Chuck-E-Cheese. Mommy let us pups out of our puppy pen and was standing holding Karma talking to Tommy in the dining room. Next thing we all know is that Joey starts attacking me, Cooper. I don't know what the hell he was thinking but he just came after me. I held him off pretty good but was distracted by all the screaming and yelling coming from Mommy & Tommy saying "NO!" "STOP!" "STOP!" Tommy was trying to separate us with his feet but Mommy didn't think that was an effective way to break up a dog fight. In her defense, she has never even seen a dog fight before, let alone it involving me, her baby :) So, somehow Joey got the upper paw in the fight and was able to flip me over. He started going for my throat...I'll admit, I was scared. Mommy was scared too cause that's when she reached to try and grab Joey's collar. She never even touched him or got too near before he turned and bit her finger, clenched down, and turned his head.
That distracted me long enough for Tommy to grab me and throw me in the sink of all places! I was still ready to kick his little Boston butt and kept barking at him from the counter that I climed over after I got out of the sink. He kept jumping up trying to get at me but only I can jump as high as the counter!!!
The next thing I knew, Mommy was holding her hand looking very white. Tommy got stupid Joey into the puppy pen. Ellie was hiding over by the couch. Mommy was hold Karma so she put her down on the couch while Tommy grabbed Mommy and took her into the bathroom to run water on her wound.
After a trip to the ER where it was determined her finger was broken, she then had to go see an orthopedic specialist and the next thing we all knew, she was in having surgery to pin her bones back together. She had a bad reaction to the surgical tape they used and had blisters around her mouth and under her eyelids that burned her real bad. She couldn't open her eyes for like two days. It was scary.
After five weeks of torture having these little alien-like pins in, she finally got those dang pins out. She thought all was good. She was upset about how much this all was going to cost...like $10,000. And, stupid Brooke never once contacted Mommy after she returned from her 10 day trip. Still to this day has not taken accountability or responsibility for one penny of this mess.
The day before Mommy's 30th birthday, she went back for another follow up cause she was concerned that her finger was twisted in a different position everyday! Yes, it was confirmed that her finger was still broken! Mommy explained that the bones didn't fuse together to heal. So, now we are waiting for Mommy to get an appointment to see a hand specialist for a second surgery. This surgery will cost probably $12,000 because she is going to have to have a bone graft taken from her hip and put it in her finger to stimulate growth.
Needless to say, Mommy is very stressed about this whole situation. And all because she was trying to do a favor for a 'friend'. We can only hope that Brooke gets what she deserves! And Joey too!
Here are some fun pictures from this whole mess!

Post surgery broken finger

GOOD NEWS!!!! Mommy just found out that she has an appointment with Parkland Hospital on Monday, November 10th at 7:30am to be seen by a Hand Specialist. Depending on how quickly they determine she needs surgery, they may schedule it for that same week...eek! Let's hope this surgery goes better than the first!
It's time for our nap now. It's tiring blogging...especially typing without thumbs! Hope everyone is well!
All our love,
Ellie & Cooper :)
